  • 4/30 4:00 pm - Strengths: I love the opening shot: it immediately draws the viewer in. The medium shot of the actors really captures the energy and connection that theater students share. There is a wide variety of b-roll, and including both a student interview and a teacher/director adds depth to the story. I also appreciated that you highlighted the crew, giving a fuller picture of everyone involved in the production. Areas of Growth: This category does not allow the use of music tracks, so be sure to review the rule book carefully before submitting next year. Following the guidelines will ensure your work meets all requirements while still showcasing your strong storytelling.
  • 4/30 3:01 pm - You had a lot of good b-roll diverse visually and what it was communicating but many of your scenes were on just a little to long which would make your story drag. For example, your opening scene should have ended after 6 seconds, same at 1:30 just crop them a little tighter. You have your keys on the very edge of your screen. Keep them in a title safe area You had music in this, you were not supposed to.
  • 4/29 6:48 am - The description of this category says that a music bed cannot be used. Since you have one, this entry is disqualified. You had a great start to the news package with the natural audio from the 2 actors. There was a flash frame at 1:33. You missed out on a great opportunity to have the amazing natural audio from your b-roll help to tell the story. Let’s hear the rehearsals, let’s hear the drills from the crew, let’s hear the director talking with the cast members, etc. Put a wireless mic on someone and let’s hear about this show through them.
