Portion of the HF Talent Show
Positives: -nice job with a variety of shots on one person -The instrument sound was a perfect level and didn't seem blown out or overexposed.
Improvements: -maybe start with a wide shot of the stage so we can see he's on stage -switching from medium to medium shots is a bit jarring to the viewer. Remember to switch up the shots. Wide-medium-tight
Positives: Lighting was nicely done and it created some very interesting close-up shots. Some camera shots were well done and made you feel like you were actually there at performance.
Improvements: Sound was an issue. It had no depth and sounded tinny. Some shots were odd in their succession and appeared jumpy from shot to shot.
Positives: - Good job with the variety of camera shots and framing them in different ways - wide/medium/tight. - Sound was well captured in a way to prioritize the talent (drums) but still allow the viewer to softly hear the music the musician was performing along to. Well done.
Improvements: - This was a fast-paced, exciting performance. Ideally you would cut cameras slightly quicker to match some of the energy of the performer. - In a situation like this where you have a single performer it can be OK to mix up your shots and (occasionally/briefly) not see his face. Would love to see some shots that focus on the sticks hitting the drums, the foot pedal, bass drum on the floor, etc.
