“We Wish You a Klezmer Christmas” Arranged by Bernofsky, performed by the Vernon Hills High School Orchestra. Taken directly from our 4 camera production of the December Holiday Concert.
Positives: -nice job following the action of who's playing an instrument . -great job starting with an opening establishing shot and the variety of shots
Improvements: -The first shot of the violinist playing was a bit awkward from the back. We'd love to see her face earlier. It's a more natural shot. -Avoid over-using the dissolve transition. We blink in cuts and it's more natural for the human eye unless the dissolve has purpose.
Positives: The close up of the violin performance was very well done. Congrats. That's not easy to do. The director used dissolves, panning and other tools they had in very strong way. Well Done.
Improvements: As usual with concerts, lighting is always an issue. Hard to see details. Some camera shots could have been tighter to help see performances better.
Positives: - Really liked the variety of framing and the motion that we saw in camera shots. Mixing things up between wide/medium/tight framing keeps things visually interesting for the viewer. Well done! - Very effective use of dissolve transitions between you camera shots rather than a hard cut. I'd suggest even a slower dissolve would be slightly better, but overall the concept was correct to soften the adjustment between shots.
Improvements: - Work on picking the right angle for the moment. Most of the violin solo we saw the back of the soloist head - towards the end of it we did get a different angle that allowed us to see her face. We want to see faces whenever possible, especially in moments like that.
