  • 3/19 2:36 pm - Great video! You did a great job demonstrating while also entertaining which is always a plus! Your style made it engaging for the audience, nicely done. The video has great audio and funny storytelling, with clear step-by-step instructions. The lighting is good, and the use of speed ups and camera movement adds to the editing. Camera angles are varied, but it might be helpful to explain what a slipknot is for those who don't know. Some of the speed ups could be cut down, and a final product shot could be included instead. Showing each step once is sufficient.
  • 2/28 8:54 pm - Your combination of a unique topic, fun and creative angles and humor make this video easy and enjoyable to watch! My only constructive criticism is that it seems a bit rushed. Your sped-up videos do add to the production value, but if someone was really trying to follow your demo it might be hard to effectively do what you did when it is sped up. However for this competition the time limit is 3 minutes and this is under that, so I get why you did it. This is a long winded way of saying that this video is great...and a second, slower one would be a great companion piece to it. Very nice work!
  • 2/28 3:35 pm - Good variety of different camera angles throughout the video. Voice-overs are well done. Good use of text throughout the production. Good use of fast motion. Great demonstration video. Keep producing more videos.

Positives: Overall, this piece is well paced and maintains a consistent tone that details each step in the process that is easy for the audience to follow. The inclusion of comedic elements added well to the story being told and helped keep the viewer engaged. It makes the piece stand out and these moments were well placed as transitions or to speed up repetitive steps.

Improvements: Small detail, but attention could be given to the lighting. Items used in the demonstration were well aranged, but the wide shots of the table (like at 0:30) catch some lights in the reflection off the picture frame in the background. Overall, the levels of the voice over and music were well balanced, butt there was a click or page turn at 2:22 that briefly takes the viewer out of the story.

Positives: -I like that you sped up the video; it was creative. -Effective illustration of the process

Improvements: -You need to introduce who Ray is, and when you ask a question, he needs to answer. -Slow your pacing a little and inflect the voice a bit more. -The ending was abrupt and needs a nice brief narrative.

Positives: Great work making a really tedious process enjoyable to watch. You did a super job breaking up the steps with some comic relief. I loved the line at the printer and the cat in addition to the text overlays. And good use of speeding up the action for passage of time on the longer steps.

Improvements: I'd say pick a more interesting topic, but this was very well and I learned something.
