  • 4/25 12:51 pm - STORY: Overall you have a well planned story that provides great information about the Digital Media Class! SOUND: Overall your music bed is mixed well! I will say that it would be nice to actually hear some sound from the b-roll clips that you use in the video. It would be nice to hear students working or conversing with others like at 0:14. It would also be nice to hear the edit when we see Premiere on screen. One thing to watch out for are audio channels. Your voice over at the very end of the video is loud enough, but it is only coming out of the left channel. Make sure that you pay attention to your audio channel settings of whether you have it set to mono or stereo. If in premiere, you can right click on a clip, go to modify audio channel. This is where you can change that option! CAMERA: I think you do a great job using different camera angles and shots! One thing to think about is composition and the relationship between what is being articulated in your video. So, for example, at 0:15 we see on screen “film videos and take pictures” which describe what you do in the class. At 0:15 we see a shot of students working, but you cannot see what they are actually doing. In this case, I would get this shot from the front side of the students so that the audience can see what these students are working with. Right now we see a tripod but do we know that there is a camera on that tripod? You need to show these things in your camera shots if that is the information you are trying to convey. Same thing at 0:38, we see “work hard in class” but the shot does not show this. At 0:25 it looks like the auto focus had a difficult time focusing. I strongly suggest watching back your shots, and re-record if you need to! LIGHTING: Overall you use the lighting very well in the settings that you record at! If you have access to lights, it would be nice to add additional lighting in the shot at 0:03 just so it creates an interesting shot. It could be as simple as placing light on both walls of the hallway. EDITING: Your pacing was good throughout your video, but I do think that your cuts could be tighter. Tighter cuts would pick up the pace of your video. For example, the shot that starts at 0:13 I would cut at 0:18 on the beat of the song. One other thing, there is camera shake at 0:37 at the very end of this clip. We don’t need to see that so cut that part of the clip out!
