  • 2/23 2:02 pm - Nice shots overall; good close ups and angles, focus and lighting were good. Nice use of nat sound to capture some of the sizzling in the frying pan. Very nice full page graphics and titles. Voice overs were clear, music bed was appropriately mixed and didn't distract from the narration. Your audio from each microphone was panned to the left and right. You should have mixed to both channels for both girls. One thing that could have made this better: show the finished omelette with 2-3 close ups from different angles, well lit, and steady (on a tripod).
Judge 1

Positives: I really, really like your format. So many of these how-to's are narrated by a faceless voice. Having you both in the shots adds life and gives me confidence. Nice variety of shots. I liked the POV style from the pan's point of view.

Improvements: Can't really think of anything. Keep up the good work!

Positives: The omelette looks delicious! Each step is explained well and the process is easy to follow. It is clear that the hosts are familiar with the script and are easy to understand. The selection of different shots and the different angles used in the moving shots follow the action and help direct the viewer's eye to what they should follow.

Improvements: Each host is only on one channel of audio - when listening with headphones, they're each only being heard on one side. Depending on which editing program using, make sure each audio track isn't being panned to one side/make sure each audio track is It would have been fantastic if at 2:02 the shot of the eggs being poured in was from the instructor's right side to be able to see the eggs.

Improvements: Looked like it was WAY too rehearsed. Looked like you were reading cue cards throughout the video. Not spontaneous or live.
