  • 4/26 11:20 am - Shooting a video for a product you can use while shooting the video is very meta...and you do a nice job with it. Shooting lights is hard because you don't want to blow out your shots...and you do a nice job of not doing that with this piece. Be sure to always ensure your shots are stable...you don't want shaky footage to take away from your story and/or your message.
  • 3/4 9:56 pm - Dear Student, It's wonderful to hear about the positive reception of your commercial for the newer LED lights. Achieving an engaging pace and creating a compelling vibe are crucial elements in capturing and maintaining the audience's attention. Your success in highlighting the product's features effectively is a testament to your understanding of the product and your ability to communicate its value visually. Your attention to the technical aspects of production, particularly camera movement, is equally important. The advice to ensure more consistent camera movement is insightful and can significantly enhance the professional quality of your commercial. Here are some suggestions to further refine your camera work and overall production quality: Use of Tripod or Gimbal: As you've mentioned, employing a tripod or gimbal can greatly improve the stability and fluidity of your shots. A tripod is ideal for static shots where stability is key, while a gimbal is perfect for smooth, dynamic movements. Investing time in mastering these tools can elevate the visual appeal of your commercials. Plan Your Shots: Before filming, plan your shots carefully, deciding which ones will benefit from static setups and which ones could be enhanced by movement. This planning phase can help you determine when to use a tripod or a gimbal, ensuring that each choice serves the commercial's narrative and aesthetic goals. Practice Smooth Movements: If using a gimbal, practice moving with it to achieve the smoothest possible shots. Pay attention to your walking technique (such as the "ninja walk") to minimize up-and-down movements that can detract from the smoothness of your shots.
