- 4/29 6:16 pm - tory (Needs Clarification) This feels more like a spoof or mockumentary-style video than a true commercial. While parody can work in advertising, the piece still needs to sell the product in some way. Right now, the humor and concept are present, but the persuasive purpose is not fully clear. Camera (Needs Improvement) The lack of shot variety hurts the overall production value. Much of the commercial relies on similar shots of bacon sizzling in a pan, which becomes repetitive. Additionally, several shots appear soft or out of focus. Technical Note: Focus and Macro Shots For detailed close-ups, especially food/product textures, consider using a macro lens. Standard lenses have a minimum focusing distance, meaning they can only get so close before the image becomes soft. A macro lens would allow you to capture the texture, detail, and “nooks and crannies” of the bacon more sharply and professionally. Product Shots (Good) The product shots at the end are strong and show a better sense of polish. I would have liked to see more of that level of intentionality throughout the entire commercial. Overall Feedback This project has a humorous concept, but it needs stronger commercial focus, more shot variety, and sharper technical execution. To improve, build a clearer persuasive message, plan a wider range of visuals, and use the right lens or camera setup for detailed close-ups.
- 4/21 8:35 am - I like your approach with the voice-over style commercial. You had some unique camera shots and angles and your lighting was nice. You definitely threw me off when it ended up being a fragrance commercial hahaha but those ending shots were well done. Double check all those audio settings to ensure everything is loud enough!
- 3/8 12:02 pm - Clever idea and concept, and really liked the way you zoomed in on those bacon shots. Felt almost like a really good ad for breakfast as well. I do think the audio could be more clear, as I had to blast the volume on my computer to hear your words clearly. It was hard to hear which made it hard to see the connection from the bacon to the cologne, if that makes sense. Otherwise funny concept and clever idea.
