A 9 camera shoot of the act Nazarre North from Glenbrook North's Variety Show. Production involved a week of rehearsals and run-throughs.
Positives: Camera cuts on beat were good to keep the viewer engaged with the song and dance. Cameras did a good job at capture all the dancers on stage. Cameras were all equally color balanced and matched between cuts.
Improvements: There were a lot of cameras angles, but most of the time they were wide-shots. To help keep it visually engaging, including some close up or single shots of dancers can also keep the pacing of directing going and add more engagement.
Positives: High energy production. Good job of covering action.
Improvements: Lighting was not conducive for video. With 9 cameras and amount of rehearsal indicated, there should have been plenty of opportunity to block shots and provide more closeups.
Positives: Loved the tracking camera below the stage. Great touch. The camera behind the stage line to capture the audience looking out was also a great call.
Improvements: Audio was really rough. Music was overpowering and really made it tough to follow the high-intensity action. Really need to work having someone assigned to close-ups - or at least, closer-ups of the performers. We're missing faces of the dancing. Medium and wide are great safe areas. Award winning happens when you can capture emotion and reaction.
