Nike Advertisement highlighting the Nike logo embroidered onto the York High School Football Jersey. The logos are in color contrast to the black and white background. Surrounding the slogan of "Never Given".
Positives: I really like the intensity. There is an intense feeling from the music, images, and dialogue. They all go together very well. The dialogue and music are mixed well. I can tell you turned down the music just enough to make sure the dialogue is heard, then the music slowly fades back up. Great job!
Improvements: I wanted some close ups of the coach! I like the establishing shot of him in a big auditorium, but I think I wanted to get in close the next times I saw the coach. Close ups always add more emotion so that could have added more intensity. I really like the visual concept of your project. I think the quick sequence of the nike symbols needs a few adjustments. It was just a little too quick to focus on the nike swoosh. You don't necessarily have to slow down the edits... maybe if the swooshes were all in the exact same spot, then it would be a little easier to focus on the swoosh.
Positives: I think there was a brand story here and the montage and booming voice with the contrasting music was an interesting way to tell it. The edit had a great pace and I thought the montage was well done.
Improvements: I think the shot of the coach wasn't needed. His voice would have worked excellent as a voice over. Cutting to the coach muddled the pace and distracted from the montage. I might have introduced the close up Nike logo sooner and sprinkled them in throughout rather than including them all in a line at the end.
Positives: Wow - great work! 1) The tag! 'Never Given' is right in line with Nike's voice - it's a really really good, emotional line! 2) The editing! Amazing work - it's emotional, has a building pace - and ends in a very punchy way - all connecting to the logo.
Improvements: 1) The spot is so beautiful, but when we cut to the live shot of the talent - the fidelity drops down - I would just use his voiceover and keep the visual storytelling with the stills! 2) In the one live shot we do see - I feel that the choice to have the coach character far away from camera hurt the emotional impact, and threw me a bit as a viewer
