4/23 10:17 pm - Need better lighting in your opening shot. Good match editing especially when they run outside. Excellent use of nicely designed titles to get across the message. This PSA is effective because of its simplicity, no need for over dramatizing. NIce job!
2/26 1:58 pm - From a story perspective, your opening scene wasn't effective. I didn't see the emotional reaction in their expressions. The second scene with the girl who couldn't get into the door was on point. The camera shot moving with her to take cover behind a wall and the cutting to the over the shoulder of her texting her mom was excellent. THAT is the kind of scene you need to convey your message, and I wish you had a few more of those types of scenes.
Your music bed did not facilitate the story you were trying to tell. Maybe if you used it just at the very end during the titles, it would have fit. But it wasn't ominous or intense enough for the shooting scenes, it didn't convey the urgency of people fleeing the school. Also, your music bed drowned out the sound effects of the gun shots in the beginning. When you have no voice over or dialogue, and you rely on music and sound effects, these choices AND the audio mix is crucial.
Your video is titled "Prevent School Shootings", but that isn't really what your video SHOWS. It shows a school shooting scenario and the terrible trauma of that scenario, but it doesn't show any ideas for how to prevent school shootings. Thinking about the whole project and finding the best title is also crucial.
