  • 2/26 1:04 pm - This is a pretty strong story. I do not love the music in the background, but it is appropriate for the story. Name keys on the interview. Well shot and framed. Having the second part of the story with the school really helped this story.
  • 2/21 2:34 pm - - Well shot and edited - Nice camera work - Informative and good interviews/soundbites - Well told story - Could have used NATS but the music helped it along too

Positives: - This story is written well enough to appear on any local TV station. That says a lot about what you gathered. Great interviews and writing around the soundbites you chose. A clear beginning, middle and end. Bravo! - You again did a great job with your camera, capturing a number of different shots and angles. The interviews are well lit. It's a good job all around

Improvements: - Ditch the music next time for more natural sound. The music doesn't really add anything here. It kind of takes away from the soundbites. And think about all the work that we see -- packing boxes/bags, people moving feverishly. There's sound that comes with that. Let's hear little bits and pieces of that instead. - You do SUCH a good job with the camera, but you need to shoot in a way that thinks about your editing. Shoot to set up your sequences (wide, medium, tight). Then, editing that way will make your story feel much more complete.

Positives: You're a great broll photographer

Improvements: Where did you shoot your standup? If it has nothing to do with the story, then we don't need to see you. You can just do a tighter shot on the interview instead of the zoom jump cuts. Not all interviews need to be shot wide. The student with windows has nothing to do with the food pantry. I'm just looking out the window and not focusing on what she's saying. I would have preferred some nats of the students moving and packing the food instead of the background music.

Positives: -Beautifully shot! Loved the variety of angles used -Impeccable storytelling. Loved how well the narration of the reporter matched the video.

Improvements: -It would've been great if you interviewed someone who benefits from the food pantry. That perspective would add great value to the piece. -I would highly suggest to have the reporter be on camera at the end of the piece, to compliment the stand up at the beginning.
