The GBN Girls' Badminton team returned to the state competition this year, hoping to achieve success. Reflecting on their bond over years of competition, the girls support each other throughout the tournament for a sought-after placement that would become memorable for parents, coaches, and players alike.
Positives: - Excellent job in including natural sound throughout this piece. You can't tell a badminton story without a bunch of sound from the game. And the shot/sound of the crowd cheering was a good example of getting the action and the reaction, so good job! - I like how you used the interviews and natural sound to move the story along. This was well-written and engaging.
Improvements: - You did a great job getting shot variety, but I would have liked to see more sequenced video. When you're doing sports, this is challenging. Next time, find opportunities for tight shots (shoes on the floor, a player's eyes, the racquet, etc.). This will help your story feel more cohesive - I noticed a few jump cuts through this. So again, find things you can go to on tight shots to help you with editing.
Positives: I loved how you matched your track to the video I like how we heard from several players and the coach I like how you added nats
Improvements: This was dying for nat sound in the first 20 seconds showing the competition This felt about 30 seconds too long. I felt like it should have ended after the coach sound
Positives: -Well written and strong narration by the reporter. -All interview subjects are framed well, audio sounds great.
Improvements: -Highly suggest starting the piece focusing on one of the players.. showing video of them, telling their story... then opening up to what the team is all about and highlighting their success. -I would love to see more video sequencing of each scene... a series of shots including a wide establishing shot, medium shot, close up etc.
