RBTV was able to capture and broadcast the fall play " A Christmas Carol"
Positives: -great job following the action -nice, clean and crisp audio.
Improvements: -try to avoid zooming in and out while the shot is up -make sure to set the shot before the director takes it. poor composition may take away from what's happening
Positives: Audio was very clear. Staging of actors was good for TV recording.
Improvements: Too many similar camera shots...jumped from one 4shot to another 4shot without much change. Seemed repetitive.
Positives: - The close up cameras did a nice job of bringing the viewer into the scene and making it seem as if we were there in the front row. It was very easy to follow the action on stage through their shots. - Audio was clean, balanced, and well mixed throughout.
Improvements: - There was probably a little too much cutting between cameras here. That's the art of directing - picking the right moments for each camera to help enhance the viewer's experience. Some of the cutting back and forth between very similar shots actually made it a little harder for the viewer to follow what was happening on stage. - Sometimes the cameras weren't quite set in their shot when taken live. Make sure to communicate with the operators when they are about to be taken - and also make sure as a director that you're watching the shot and see that it's ready before giving your cue!
