Promotes the LTHS Student Film Festival.
Positives: I like the use of photo and video, and I like that the photos flash by really quickly to the speed of the song. The graphics were punchy and got the message across well. They weren't overused and had just the right amount of information for people to remember.
Improvements: I would have cut the countdown at the beginning and started with the words Film Fest. It's a grabby graphic and the countdown feels like an extra few seconds I didn't need. While I liked the photos and the way they were edited very quickly in between the videos, I think the photos you chose to feature could be picked more intentionally. I would have liked the vertical photos to be cropped so you don't see the black bars on either side of the video, or a background added. Some of the photos were not engaging and felt like maybe they were added in because you needed more photos to fill up those beats of the song. There's also a flash frame at 1:30. Same with the video. There are some clips of a girl with a mic interviewing someone, which was not the best choice to feature because you can't hear anything she's saying. I would focus on picking more action shots of students working on films, walking down the red carpet, etc. These clips would work to tell the story of film fest.
Positives: Great promo for your festival. Plenty of shots to build excitement. Love the posters and the red carpet. It's clear it's a worthwhile event to attend.
Improvements: The chronology seemed a bit skewed with bits and pieces of the films mixed in with the evening's showing. A bit of "cart before the heart."
Positives: The combination of film footage and photography worked well together, creating an effective stylistic choice. It was also impressive to see how the festival captured such a diverse range of participants and moments throughout the event and this video told that story nicely!
Improvements: The piece could be improved by incorporating voiceovers or interviews to enhance the storytelling, rather than relying solely on on-screen text cards. Additionally, while the duration felt somewhat lengthy, the audio could have been more dynamic by mixing in different music tracks and sound effects instead of using a single song throughout.
