Hayden, a teenage girl, learns a thing or two about what it means to be haunted and the journey she must take.
Positives: Great job! I really enjoyed your use of music in the trailer. And overall, this is clearly a touching, and unique piece that feels personal and specific. The director and actors do a good job to convey the frustration that the characters are feeling.
Improvements: The narrative feels slightly "vague" and could be expanded upon, just a bit – I'm a little distracted by the dialogue surrounding "demons", and how that applies to the plot. The overall sound mix could be improved a bit by ducking the music up and down to accommodate the dialogue, as there are sections where the music mix feels too low to make the proper impact. Excellent job on your entry this year – there was clearly a lot of skill and talent put into this piece.
Positives: The emotional landscape is well conveyed. The still life shots say more with very little, could be used sybolically underneath the voiceover.
Improvements: A bit confusing. I'm wondering if anyone's a ghost. either the girl or the boy. Maybe concentrate on the relationship of the two main characters before introducing us to side characters.
Positives: Cool premise and filming overall—it totally had a young adult novel vibe in the best way. The opening shots were really well done and helped pull me in right away. You had a strong visual style that carried through the trailer.
Improvements: Since you were going for a haunting angle, it might help to use a filter or some makeup to really sell the creepiness of that character. Just a little extra visual effect could make a big difference in creating that eerie atmosphere.
