An excerpt from the live stream of BHS Rock the Runway, where students create designs out of anything *but* fabric.
Positives: Thank you for allowing me to view and judge your video. Stage productions are one of the hardest things to video record because you don't control anything - including the lighting, colors, or audio. I think you did very good work. Perfect exposures in difficult lighting. Over all very good.
Improvements: A little less camera following subject. Let the person walk through the clips. Add a few close ups.
Positives: -nice job starting with establishing shot -great job smoothly transitioning to different angles
Improvements: -try to anticipate the action as soon as they get on the stage so the director can change shots immediately so we can see them clearly -be careful zooming, it can be jarring to the viewer.
Positives: Not using the wide shot as a crutch and using your slash cameras to get better and tighter coverage. I feel like the on stage portion was going long, so the cuts allowed the segment to feel more fresh and energetic.
Improvements: I feel like the camera placements were the "usual" placements for this theater, so i think for a fashion show the camera placement could be replaced to different spots for my dynamic fashion angles. framing the background set pieces could have been used more.
Positives: Great job all around. Good use of graphics for each runway model. Great use of camera angles and the camera operators gave the director a variety of options and looks. Great use of camera cuts, very disciplined and created a great flow.
Improvements: The only thing I saw was to watch the lighting specials or follow spots on the runway modal. At one point the subject was over exposed from too much light. There may have been an instance where the narrator was cutoff and the music ramped up too soon.
Positives:
