High school girl, Carol wakes up from a deep sleep and doesn't remember why she's wearing a black suit. In fact, she doesn't remember anything prior to sleeping on the couch after a long day of school. Watch as Carol's journey reveals the truth about her black suit with the help of lights and a friendly cat.
Positives: Your camera movement does a great job in delivering the right information the audience needs to put the pieces together about the mystery. You have some very clean handheld shots and one-shots that end one scene and start another that read very well. I also enjoyed that you had a cohesive score throughout the whole thing, and the star lighting across your actor's face was a great touch and a strong hook for the opening shot.
Improvements: Watch your exposure going from one room to the other. Shooting in low light and then going into fluorescents in the kitchen is a challenge. Make sure you light your scene before adding in your practicals like lamps. Even during the dark opening with the star lamp, adding a blue gel to an LED to fill the room will help the camera so it is not racking to find the focus in low light. I also would have loved a boom or a lav on our assailant so we could really hear what she was saying as that tied the whole story together.
Positives: Nice work! 1) I love the styled approach to the film, especially the opening scene! 1) The score was laid in really well!
Improvements: 1) speed it up! I wanted to get out of the conversation with our antagonist more quickly, and same with the Urban Dollars explanation. 2) There's elements of the story that I didn't understand, like the rose petals.
Positives: There was a variety of shots utilizing different locations that helped support the story. The lack of dialogue was a different technique that worked well. Lighting and color were balanced throughout the video.
Improvements: The music was overpowering at times and the dialogue sounded distant. Also, there was a fire alarm battery beep throughout which was very distracting. The editing and cuts could have been quicker to help the pace of the video.
