  • 4/24 8:42 pm - Loose frames at 1:32 and beyond. I think this may have been meant to be an effect, but it looks more like a mistake. A lot of outstanding attention to detail in regards to the costume and the performances. The mixed media components were very strong and worked well – especially the Facetime scene. It could have been interesting to weave the mixed media elements into the ending as well – perhaps the Killer is on social media? The biggest things working against this was the inconsistent sound and focus (example: audio peaks at 2:12; out of focus at 2:30). In regards to the story, the killer had no personality which made him a little less scary than if he was more integrated into the plot. Overall, dynamic and creative short film! Strong writing. I would recommend practicing composition and manual camera settings further.
  • 4/24 7:54 am - Kudos to you for being willing to work with so many actors - that's a touch job as I am sure you know and the the idea is fun but it needs to be developed and thought out: whose story am I following? Whose eyes am I seeing the story through? Also, thinking through the scenes and how you will cover them? What kind of shots do you need?
  • 3/15 10:59 am - Your story needs to be developed a bit more. What changes do your main characters go through? What do you want your audience to take away from this? The acting needs to be more convincing for this concept to work. I am not sensing enough fear from these kids. They don't have enough of a reaction to the murders. That being said, I think you did a good job of making these people seem like realistic teenagers before the killings start to happen. The FaceTime felt very authentic (the actions of getting ready, the camera movement, the dialogue). Although I do think the guy's dialogue on FaceTime is out of sync towards the end. A few other audio notes - at the party, it's a little hard to hear all of the dialogue when they are all standing around in a circle. It sounds like some of your audio is peaking - maybe the mic was too close? Some of your audio transitions could be smoothed out in post.
