  • 4/28 8:19 pm - Good use of text and graphics to explain the steps. Good use of Close-Up camera shots. The presenter clearly explained the process. Music selection works well with the images you recorded. Good moving camera shots. Very well done. Keep producing more videos.
  • 2/23 1:35 pm - AUDIO: the music bed was too loud. I love metal, but it's distracting. CAMERA: nice well lit and well-exposed shots, great close ups, EDITING: good use of titles to cover the different sections of the video, clearly edited sections. STORY: I'm glad you had the last section where the host explains the importance of playing your guitar, but...why didn't you actually have him playing the guitar? I mean, for a video about guitars, it would make sense to see and hear the guy playing the guitar, even only for a 10 second riff.

Positives: Speaker was very poised and professional. Nice, clear sound. Great range of shots to back up what he was talking about.

Improvements: Cut went from humidifying products to products in general and made it look like everything there was for humidifying.

Judge 2

Positives: The music complements the subject of the video and helps set the tone. Everything feels like it belongs in a demonstration of how to take care of guitars. Good variety of shots that show what is going on and keep the viewer engaged. The rack focus at 2:39 is a nice touch and buttons up the piece well.

Improvements: Be careful not to let the music overpower the voiceover. There are a few moments (like 1:31) where the music competes with the instructor. Ideally dialogue should be -6 to - 10 dB and music underneath should be closer to -25 dB (but can fade up when there's no dialogue). At transition moments, such as 0:46, consider a fade in the music transition that happens. There's a nice j-cut that happens when we hear the instructor before it cuts back to him, but the music seems to change abruptly in the middle of the transition.

Positives: The video was well put together. Very specific audience however. Good key points. Good hit on many elements. Covered a lot of info in the three minute limit.

Improvements: Maybe not so many close-ups? But the camera work was great.
