  • 4/30 10:12 am - Production value was good. The set was professional. If possible, I would have liked to see more than 1 shots when just one person was speaking. Talent seemed knowledgeable of the novel and did a good job.
  • 4/29 11:55 am - The hosts clearly enjoyed the book and discussing it, but should have been a little more professional or rehearsed because the fidgeting and giggling was a little distracting. More equal input from all 3 hosts would have been nice; perhaps this could have been structured in such a way that narrative of the talk show was for the hosts to all give reactions to key scenes rather than a plot summary with some interjections? Good set and good camera angles.
  • 4/16 1:58 pm - Good job of breaking down this book. Sometimes hosts seem a little nervous and giggly. Great job on the set and it's well switched throughout.
Judge 1

Positives: -Great opening and the set design communicate the vibe to viewers right off the bat -Audio is well-balanced, good lighting -Fun, relaxed banter

Improvements: -Consider scripting a plot description to share at the top and then coming up with a few discussion points or questions to facilitate conversation. A little structure could go a long way! -Think about what visuals you could incorporate. Maybe a stand to have book on display on the tv during the discussion or a graphic showing the characters and their connections.

Judge 2

Positives: -The conversation really stood out when all three participants were involved. It felt natural, engaging and well-balanced. -The sound quality and camera angles were on point, adding to the overall professionalism of the production.

Improvements: -Try to keep some of the giggling to a minimum, as it can distract from the message and take away from the overall delivery. -Work on asking questions that engage everyone in the conversation to bring in multiple perspectives. That can help stimulate a more dynamic discussion.

Judge 3

Positives: Set design is strong and well lit, and camera angles generally support the discussion. Audio quality is clear and consistent.

Improvements: Story structure is difficult to follow at times. Introducing a clearer moderator role would help guide discussion and keep responses focused. Add lower third graphics for names and book details to improve clarity for viewers.
