  • 4/30 7:42 pm - This film has a distinct visual style. I generally like cinematography that leans darker. You definitely establish a tone with this. Your stairwell shots at 2:25 are awesome. However, there were some shots that I think were important that I could not see very well. I don’t think you need the voice over at all. Your images are doing the work for you. I would have also liked to hear more of the environment. The music is good, but I think if you mixed in some more room tone, breathing, footsteps, and wind it would be more immersive. You have some strong skills that are evident in the filmmaking. Keep it going!
  • 4/30 1:29 pm - The title page coming in at the middle of the film as a tool of transition, not only in the soundtrack, but the tone of the film as well is super clever and effective. I'm not sure if I need the voice over. The protagonists journey is interesting enough, Just the ability to watch this character unravel this mystery is captivating enough. The beginning shots that lead up to the climax are super unsettling and fitting to the content of the film. I would lean into that cinematography more. Great job!
  • 4/29 11:29 am - Strengths: Flashback of the tree images was done well. The shot of the feet under the door was cool (1:35)! This feels like the opening to a video game (and I mean that as a compliment). Solid performance by actor. Nice muted visuals throughout. Improvements: Opening sequence could've been trimmed down a bit and maintained its impact. A little hard to see what was on the phone. Hard to hear the voiceover over the audio at times. For me, the pacing could've been tightened up throughout. I could see the thought put into holding shots to build tension, but I find myself waiting at times for something to "happen" (whether that was the shot changing, a line of narration, shift in emotion, audio, etc.).
