  • 4/14 11:04 am - STORY: This music video leans much more into style over narrative, meaning that is more focused around rhythm, mood and aesthetics rather than having a clear beginning, middle and end story. Much of the video focuses on fast paced visuals. These fast visuals do make it challenging to watch for any story or emotional shift. If you do want to include a more specific narrative, I would consider using just a few slower moments or repeating visuals (at a slower pace) to give the viewer a story cue. If you’re not going for a literal story, consider including some emotional arc. Maybe starting with a specific mood and showing it evolve. SOUND: Your sound is well mixed and it syncs with the visuals that you have! If you want to level up your audio editing, you could consider adding in more audio layers, such as echos or different sound effects. This can add some texture to your video. CAMERA: There is a lot of great energy that comes through your camera work. You have a mix of moving footage and different angles. The video quality is noticeably low however. This could be due to camera resolution, lighting or even file compression. I’m not sure what type of cameras you have access to, but ensuring that you are filming at the highest resolution, along with using good lighting can make a big difference in your work. Keeping your hands steady and using a tripod can also help you to keep shots stable and clear, especially if you plan to use fast motion. LIGHTING: Lighting is used effectively throughout your video! I liked the lighting you use at 0:17 to make it feel like an “older” video. EDITING: You have a very energetic and fast-paced video. You match a lot of your cuts to the rhythm of your song which is great! I would try introducing a few more slow cuts to break up your pace. This can help add a dynamic shift and can even convey more information to your audience about the story.
  • 2/18 8:58 am - The video certainly has a lot happening visually, creating a chaotic and intense viewing experience. However, it’s unclear whether there is a deeper message beyond simply overwhelming or disorienting the audience. If the intent was to evoke confusion, that aspect is well-executed, but a clearer narrative or thematic direction could strengthen the overall impact. Additionally, the video quality is noticeably low in resolution, which further contributes to the difficulty in processing the rapid cuts and flashing imagery. The pixelation and lack of sharpness make it harder to engage with the details and could detract from the intended artistic vision. If the fast-paced visuals were meant to create a sense of urgency or energy, a higher-quality resolution would help maintain that effect without becoming overly distracting. To improve, consider refining the visual storytelling so that viewers can connect with a central theme or message. Also, enhancing the resolution and ensuring smoother transitions between shots could make the video more immersive while still retaining its high-energy style.
