  • 4/24 2:22 pm - This was a fantastic nod to The Matrix! You did an excellent job of using a familiar story while also getting all of the information about the event across. I enjoyed your editing and special effects throughout the video, especially the paper ducking and the teacher replacement. Great promotional video!
  • 4/23 11:52 am - STORY: This is a really well thought out story! You provide the essential information in a very fun and creative way that definitely keeps your audience engaged! SOUND: You do a great job mixing in your dialogue and audio mix. I do like the echo of the audio in your scene at 1:03. At times it is difficult to understand what is being said. However, the echo does really add to the creepy tone here! Great use of sound effects at 1:49 as well! CAMERA: You use a lot of different camera shots and angles. I love a lot of the framing you use in your shots especially at 0:29, 1:03, and 1:23. You demonstrate “unconventional” framing and you use it correctly like at 1:03. LIGHTING: Great use of lighting throughout your video! Your lighting also adds to the story in that it mimics a lot of what the Matrix uses. One shot where I think it would be nice to see more light on the main character would be at 2:30 when he is in the radio studio. His face is just slightly dark. It could be subtle light mimicking the light coming from the computer screen. EDITING: Your sequencing throughout flowed really well. Your editing clearly communicates the story and message. Great job with the edit at 1:32! Very clever way to mimic this from the Matrix! I love how you include the green hue as well! Great touch!

Positives: Great "Matrix" tie in! Nice display of phone number for fundraiser

Improvements: More consistent lighting Could have tightened up the editing to make it of higher energy - got the story element but felt too long - especially in the number reveal moment at the beginning

Positives: You did an amazing job. The effects are great. I was looking for flaws in your split-screen work and couldn't find any. Even the shadows blended naturally. The story was engaging and it makes me want to watch the Rock-a-thon 2024. Excellent and very creative work.

Improvements: It's tough to find something to improve. But I will try. When the character wads up the paper he is holding and throws it the paper doesn't have the look of the rest of the vide. Here are a could of things to try. Soften the edges a little. That way it won't look cut out. And use a noise filter and add a little noise. If you are using After Effects when you go to Noise and Grain effects select Noise as opposed to Grain. Then use the monochrome setting. Don't add very much though. Then you may also need a slight Gausian blur.
