After finding a suspicious note and threat written in his yearbook, Eli must figure out who's out to get their revenge.
Positives: The story is simple and you really benefit from having simple locations that don't distract from our characters. I love that you balance the simplicity with our comic relief blaming everything on "the record label" which is hilarious. Cinematography Is professional and you move the camera at the right points ex: the tracking shot along the ground during the Mr. Snuggles accusation.
Improvements: There's something missing with the teddy bear element because we don't see much of it in the beginning so when the reveal happens I'm fully prepared to see The Record Label come back around and have our conspiracy theorist be right. Watch lighting when you have characters wear hats the shadows overtake their face and we miss emotional reactions.
Positives: Overall, big fan of mr. snuggles - such a shame his leg got torn off like that. #justice4snuggles There’s some really cool camera direction here, I liked seeing the creativity there- just a few focus issues. Otherwise, this was technically sound and there are some really pretty frames.
Improvements: The writing was sound, but a bit streamlined- the team here had a large undertaking with the mystery-solving format. There’s a lot of exposition to work in, and the team did a nice job here.
Positives: The selection of shots was impressive, and combined with the editing, made this a very engaging video. A strong example occurs between 1:22 and 1:50, when Dylan leaves the room to answer his phone. The editing in this moment effectively emphasizes the emotions of the two remaining boys. The pacing builds tension, while the shot selection further reinforces the emotional impact of the scene.
Improvements: For the most part, the frame composition works well. However, there are a few moments where the balance feels off. One example occurs at 1:45. The character on the left, John, is partially out of frame, while the character he is speaking with, Eli, is properly positioned. This creates a sense of visual imbalance. If John were positioned slightly further to the right, the frame would feel more balanced and visually cohesive.
