Entry Description
After a viral social media campaign distorts her appearance beyond recognition, model Ashley Hayes finds herself rejected by the industry that once embraced her. Desperate to reclaim her identity, she undergoes a botched plastic surgery, leading her to team up with Detective Adler to track down the elusive surgeon who exploited society’s obsession with perfection.

Judge 1
Positives: Beautiful cinematography and production design. Camera movement on the tracking shots are smooth and add to the tension. The use of extreme close ups on the phone calls and flashbacks set a tense tone and show an understanding of how emotions can be communicated through editing and not just acting. Awesome performances as well from the actors. Sound was capture well and things like phone calls had appropriate levels in the mix. Good job!
Improvements: The ending fizzled out a bit. We built some excellent tension and while this is an excellent short, I wanted to see our protagonist get the drop on the surgeon. We kind of lost the "why" of the scene, but overall, excellent job. With something this good, improvements becoming micro since the macro is so strong. You should be proud of the work!

Positives: The audio for the film is well done, it is balanced and you are able to hear all of the dialogue. The shots you use while talking with the investigator are good and help to build suspense.
Improvements: I am confused why it ended the way it did. What happened to the investigation, why did he call the detective? I think there are a few unanswered questions that would help tie the whole movie together. The outside shots looked like they needed to be white balanced, they seem a little blue.

Positives: The characters in the story were strong and convincing to the viewer. There was strong use of different camera angles to support the story.
Improvements: The audio aspect of this piece could have been improved with the usage of music and sound effects. The dialog was clear however the story could have been tightened up through quicker editing or additional b-roll to support the story being told.
