Entry Description

This is a promo video for the All School Assembly. This year is the 25th anniversary of this epic event, which brings together 4,000 students for an action-packed morning of events, games, and performances. My interview with Activities Director Kris Costopoulos was especially meaningful, since she created the event in her original role at the school.

  • 3/9 8:29 pm - Very cool event you are promo-ing AND it's put together very well. Clean audio and video. My only suggestion is in this world of shorts and reels and flash...this feels more like a news or announcement report than something you are promoting. Back in the day when we used "flyers" to promote events, you were competing for attention against all the other flyers out there. It's the same today but in the video world. Would the average viewer stick around to watch this full video if they were simply scrolling through their reels? Not doubt it's well-produced by I feel like it needs to be ramped up a bit.
  • 3/6 9:28 am - So, my first reaction to this promo is this: "Why don't we have this at our school?"... Awesome event. I get the feel of the tradition and the sense of how crazy this thing gets with the energy in the room. You did a good job showing me that and taking me to a place that I've never been before and to see an event that I have never seen. So nicely done with that. I think that your interview with the OG activities lady was really good idea. That hammered home that idea of "tradition" and this is what "we do" that's unique to our school. What I kind of wanted to see was a photo of Ms. Costopoulos back in 1999! Might of been a nice moment to do a match cut? I'm betting your audience would have gotten a kick out of seeing her way, way back when. But, then again... Maybe she wouldn't have liked the idea. I liked this is a lot, I'm a sentimental person and this had me thinking back to the assemblies we had at my high school 30+ years ago. Nicely done-- hope the event is as cool as it looks when you guys do it again!
