- 5/1 1:40 am - You did a great job staying with the magician, especially with how quickly he was moving, which made the trick easy to follow from start to finish. The coverage felt very intentional and you captured all the key moments, which made the whole sequence really engaging to watch. One small thing to think about moving forward is audio. It would have been helpful to hear what the participant was saying during the interaction, as that likely adds another layer to the performance. Overall though, this was a well executed piece.

- 4/16 2:03 pm - Great coverage of this magic trick with the student and a staff member. You showed everything we needed to see as it was clear that this was well thought out in coverage. I know the idea is that someone randomly is picked from the audience but it would have been nice to hear what the lady was saying to the magician as I am sure this was all planned. It was switched well and great attention to detail.
Judge 1
Positives: Good work trying to quickly follow the magician as they can sometimes be unpredictable and hard to follow. The audio of his mic was clear.
Improvements: Some of the cameras movements were jerky and very fast movement, and at other times, missed some of the act such as when the card was pulled from the shoe. Even though the magician mic was able to pick up some audio of the audience reactions, having an additional mic would pick up more of the audience reactions.
Judge 2
Positives: Good subject matter. Good job at following the action.
Improvements: Because it was a slight of hand trick, we should never have lost sight of the deck of cards in his hands. Director failed to keep angle on hands clear. Missed a lot of the action. The home viewer was not able to have an uninterrupted view of the card trick. Sound was distorted at times.

Positives: Geez - talk about a tough act to stay with the action. Great job trying to stay ahead of where the performer was going. If all else fails, have a wide shot to fall back on as a safety. Mr. Silvio didn't make this easy for you either. Great job.
Improvements: You were fighting with the spotlight the entire performance which was tough. Balanced lighting when the principle character is getting blown out by a hot white light makes everything more difficult. We needed some background light on the stage even for depth and really needed to back off the intensity of the light. Working with the performer to understand where they are going to go and where they will finish will help anticipate all the movements.
