  • 4/28 10:05 pm - Good use of text at the beginning of the video to list the materials. Music selection works well with the images you recorded. Good use of text throughout the video. Voice-overs are well done. Keep producing more videos.
  • 2/23 2:04 pm - Music bed was too loud in the mix. Here's what you should do for audio. Primary audio (voice over) should be between -6 and -12 db on the VU meter, music bed should be between -18 and -24 db on the VU meter. The narration drops off after your introduction and you rely on 1 topdown shot with titles. That was not the move. You need to continue engaging with your audience, and that missing chunk of voice over made it seem like you didn't put in the effort.

Positives: Nice, clear explanation.

Improvements: Speeding up the folding and some different camera angles and maybe even shots of the speaker would have added more visual interest. A minute plus folding the paper in real time was deadly.

Judge 2

Positives: The audio levels are balanced well. The music complements the tone of the video but doesn't overpower the narrator. The warmer lighting and font choice also complement the overall feel and tone. It creates a cohesive look that works well with the energy and pace.

Improvements: The use of voiceover is good, but it would be nice if the narrator explained each step instead of dropping out and letting titles try to explain it. If someone were following the video, it can be hard to read and watch the folding. Structurally, it would have been nice to include the background of what the fortune teller is for in the intro to the video and set the viewer up for knowing more about what they're going to make.

Judge 3

Positives: Informative. Great info in short time. The composition of the video was really good - visually.

Improvements: Better penmanship would have been more attractive. Pay more attention to the visuals.
