  • 4/25 8:23 pm - STORY: This intro is so different from a typical sports promo! I like how fun and different the video started off! It really draws you in! SOUND: Great job mixing the two different songs together! I feel like it would be nice to hear sounds from the beach during the intro portion. Great job including sounds from the game! CAMERA: Great job incorporating wide shots and close ups of players and groups. I think a lot of times we don’t connect with sports promos because there is more footage of gameplay than of the players. However, you include a lot of shots of the players! LIGHTING: I think you did a good job with lighting! I appreciate the addition of light especially in the clips that you filmed at night! Also a smart idea to film during golden hour. It makes the color of your footage look great! EDITING: You video shifts from very fun to intense and I think you made the right call with how you put this video together! I like the glitch effect that you add in to transition into the “intense” part of your video. And I do like how you continue to use it from that point on. I do feel that this video ends pretty abruptly. I think it would be nice to end on a shot of the team, seeing another volleyball get hit with the shot that the player just made, or using a title card to promo a game.

Positives: Interesting twist with a "vacation" feel Great transition into on court activitiy

Improvements: abrupt ending perhaps a final juxtaposition of beach and on court?

Positives: Your intro works very well in bringing your audience into the project. You introduce the players effectively, and set the stage for the rest of the video. The quick cuts that occur at about 16 seconds work great. They generate the excitement created by the team. And make your audience want to see more.

Improvements: Consider shooting several more action shots to further develop the excitement created by the team. There is only one in your current edit. When doing handheld shots, focus on smoothing the moves. It’s a little shaky and would be more impactful if the movements used something that would steady the shots during production or use a motion smoother application in the edit.
