Entry Description

A high school mob leader recruits an innocent nerd who has a hidden talent.

Judge 1

Positives: This was a good and original concept and the character who played the mob boss was funny.

Improvements: For a video called "Mob Girls" why was the mob boss a male? While I understand the theme was an in school mob ring, some effort should have been made to shoot more scenes outside of school. Each scene needs to be well supported. The "work out" scene at the house needed more content.

Judge 2

Positives: There were interesting characters throughout the video. Many make the mistake of under shooting scenes. There was plenty to work with to make the story line happen.

Improvements: The audio quality and levels were all over the place. The audience can't immerse themselves in the story line when they are distracted by tech issues. The old phrase "shoot to edit" would be good to study. The camera work and editing did not make it through post successfully. The flow from one shot to another was choppy, which again, will distract your viewers. Beware of jump cuts and perspective changes.

Judge 3

Positives: This subject has the possibilities of being overdone, but I think the students did well. It was funny and shot well and didn't seem overly acted

Improvements: The sound editing was choppy and detracted a little bit from it overall...but good lighting and acting compensated
