Entry Description

Video memorializes Bill Gutman who died of cancer late last year. He was the broadcasting teacher at OEHS and made a large impact on students.

Judge 1

Positives: Music worked with piece. Good to have professionals mixed in to speak.

Improvements: Looked like the Brittney was reading and should have covered with b-roll. I would have liked to have seen a picture of him to open to establish who he is. Shot locations for students were awkward. Put movement on stills to keep interest. Also, had to go to youtube to play piece.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice variety of interviews with students and faculty; good behind-the-scenes shots.

Improvements: I would have like to see Mr. Gutman a lot earlier in the piece, probably within the first 5-10 seconds; transitions should have been softer- dissolves to and from pictures of Mr. Gutman, more crossfades; music was a little hot.

Positives: Good content/idea. Smooth cuts.

Improvements: Script-reading too obvious. Music overpowering at times.
