Entry Description

After many years of working as a wood shop teacher, Dave Hill is retiring from Glenbrook South. Mr. Hill won a citizenship award for his way with working for others and his kindness to all. This video is a thank you for him after all these years.

Judge 1

Positives: Good pacing. Like tight shots of Mr. Hill. Interesting cuts. Good music choice. Good close with lights.

Improvements: Lower third font/color wasn't best choice. Didn't see point of having VO displayed in text as well. Could have used that time to show full picture of Mr. Hill.

Judge 2

Positives: I liked the variety of angles that Mr. Hill was shot from; liked the opening graphic over the wood finish.

Improvements: Some of the fades at the end of interviews seemed a bit rushed; would have skipped the titles as the narrator was speaking and just stuck to the pictures of Mr. Hill throughout the years.

Judge 3

Positives: Good use of wood shop classroom shots. Good use of rack focus.

Improvements: Tight shot at the end seem out of place. Interview subjects off-centered on a lot of shots.
