Entry Description

A teenage girl needs the help of her friend to get the courage to report abuse.

Judge 1

Positives: Music and images tell the story well. The abused girl does a good job acting with her facial expressions. The editing is technically done well to the beat of the song. Love the opening.

Improvements: The singer does a decent job but there are some lip sync issues. The singer "layer" could be more creative and the shot composition could be better. (i.e. too much head room on black curtain shot. The singer is sort of lost in the shot.) Although the shoes are cool, there was a lot of focus on shoes and boots and not the story.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice editing pace and use of effects. Nice camera angles throughout. Jump cuts work well. Video to audio sync was well done - talent did a great job too. Good use of s/fx at the end.

Improvements: Outdoor footage seemed to be a bit blue at the beginning - white balance prior to shooting. Some footage was a little too dark at times... Footage of singer in dark room could be lit more dramatic, so we can still see her, while also displaying your style. May be better to use a key at the beginning and end to credit the artist.

Judge 3

Positives: Good job layering your visuals - it kept the video moving well. Creative editing throughout. The camera arcs were nice and looked professional.

Improvements: The pacing was inconsistent - there were some parts that were edited great with the music and some that lingered for a while. i.e:singer in chair. An opening title would be good.
