Entry Description

This music video is an original piece featuring an original song by Darion Washington. The video is shot around RBHS and features pictures of Chicago.

Judge 1

Positives: Nice job on the original song! The editing is done well. The opening is really solid. Some interesting locations and footage.

Improvements: Special effects are over used. The singer is often not the main focus of his shots--masked by effects. Could may use another layer/storyline.

Judge 2

Positives: Artist did a good job presenting himself. Good location choices when recording video of artist. Liked the use of a key at the beginning and end to give credit. Song lyrics fit stills of Chicago.

Improvements: Found it difficult to decipher style of video because of all the effects used - a bit too much throughout. Pick an effect or two to use, and stick with them. This will help define the style of the video. Pacing would be better with more beat editing - some footage seemed to cut randomly instead of on the beat. Song was original, but what about the still images and b-roll displayed? I would've liked to see layered footage of city landmarks recorded by students.

Positives: Catchy song. Good pacing throughout. Nice to see different locations.

Improvements: The transitions and video effects were distracting. Some of the images didn't appear to be original and didn't go along with the song.
