Entry Description

"Chinese New Year", produced by Emma Vuillemot. 100 card hand drawn, start with a line & end with a line. Celebrating my Chinese heritage and culture.

Judge 1

Positives: Excellent animation and characters. The active line animation is powerful and your transitions are effective. Great work!

Improvements: I would like to see a longer project using this style of animation. You did a great job, but it makes me want to see more.

Judge 2

Positives: Interesting subject. The transition from the dragon to the butterfly was very well done.

Improvements: Music did not fit the subject matter, sounded Spanish or Greek when it needed to be Chinese. Way too short to get your point across. Rather stiff animation on the dragon, having his legs move when he walked would have greatly added to the motion.

Positives: Fluid motion good music choice Nice title card

Improvements: More contrast needed in color choice of lines for dragon and other elements. More development on the dragonfly needed... use photo references.
