This is a police ride-along show. I taped this show in a police squad car.
Positives: 1) The tone was effectively set with music and presentation style. 2) Shots were steady and well composed.
Improvements: 1) Graphical elements could be improved - color choices and grammatical errors were a distraction. 2) Each segment could use more interaction / interview elements as opposed to pure observation.
Positives: Killer idea. Not many people get the opportunity to ride along with officers. Its great that you were able to ride with different officers and actually see them doing different stops. You got into the mind of the police!
Improvements: Think about the show "Cops" and try to include their tricks into your project. You should have told the officers before taping that as they get calls, they should explain them to you. Basically the officers should be thinking out loud. You could fill in what they dont say with voice over. You should cut out you saying "So, whats happening?" before every stop. It would have been nice to have music over the parts where your'e driving around with the lights on. It would add drama to the scenes. And you spelled "House" wrong. :)
Positives: The sound was mixed very well, nothing over powered the other (i.e. sirens) There was great footage of the officers on duty, good camera work.
Improvements: I don't think asking the officers behind the camera, "what's happening?" or "so, whats going on?" is very effective. It takes away from what style you already had working for you in your documentation of the ride along. You should be asking them these questions to get them to talk to the camera, just edit your voice out. There was a good pace to the type of action you were following, however, there was no progression of activity or story to follow. There was a lack of organization that could've been handled better. Not to mention the ending was very abrupt.
