Entry Description

A news report about DDE's courtyard and when students will be allowed to eat outside.

Judge 1

Positives: Leeana does a nice job with her voice over setting up the various elements of her report. Good use of file footage integrated with contemporary footage of new court yard.

Improvements: Leeana's mic is muffled - probably by her scarf and the sound of her voice sounds just that - muffled. Sound for Jada Russell and Donny has a buzz running through it - disconcerting to hear. The report ended abruptly - not sure why?

Judge 2

Positives: Nice before and after shots Nice standup at the top of the piece.

Improvements: Would have been nice to see actual people in the courtyard...even if it had been teachers. I realize there are rules that had to be put into place but perhaps an exception could have been done. . Audio in two interviews had a buzz, either the fluorescent lights or bad mic cable. Ended to quickly with a shot of two people and no final statement.

Judge 3

Positives: The story idea is a good one - you posed the question and used good resources to try and find an answer. There was a good variety of shots to illustrate your story. Tough problem to solve! Glad I'm not the teacher who has to make that decision!

Improvements: I was involved in your storytelling and you left me hanging with no ending! Even if the school hadn't found a solution to the courtyard issue, you needed to somehow say that to finish your story. Be careful with correct pronunciation of words!! The word is "ASK" not "AX." Overall very good effort!
