Entry Description

A young girl spirals into madness as she adopts an unhealthy way of dealing with her personal problems.

Judge 1

Positives: I liked the whiteness of the imaginary blind doctor scenes. Like the drawing on the wall connected to the blind doctor character. Overall, the actress does a good job but better angles and composition would enhance the performance.

Improvements: Some transitions don't move the piece. You shouldn't dissolve to the same shot. Use more angles and improve framing on some shots. There's too much walking around and not enough story. Use more close ups and amplify her problems.

Judge 2

Positives: Liked the POV shots throughout. Very creative to use the doctor to make all of her problems “better”. Talent did a great job acting. Story was easy to understand. Liked the effect on the lighting when talent is in the living room.

Improvements: Include a key at the beginning and end to give credit. Dip seemed a bit too long at 0:33 - threw off pacing a little at that point. Series of footage with father figure entering the room at 1:30 seemed to have a Charlie Chaplin style with the over-exaggeration of the talent crying. Liked this idea, and would’ve liked to see it more throughout. Would also like to see more creative camera angles, and more layers when talent was alone - especially around 0:17. This would've helped with speeding up the editing pace.

Judge 3

Positives: The concept of the Doctor Blind character was creative. Visuals portrayed emotions well.

Improvements: The lighting was consistent, but some was just too bright. The pacing was slow and some cuts didn't make sense.
