A music video for the song "Me & Mr. Jones"

Judge 1

Positives: The acting by the lead girl was very good. The other two talent also gave solid performances. The opening shot coming into the focus and then tilting up was really a great way to start the video. Storyline was good and definitely was carried by the acting, shot composition and editing. Black and white works as a flashback narrative element.

Improvements: The overall shot composition was good but there was one CU of the main woman that had too soft of a focus. A few continuity issues that are a tad confusing albeit very minor. The story starts with her and him in the kitchen. It then flashes back (the BW segment) where she catches him cheating and kicks him out. When we return to color, he is out of the house and she goes and gets him. Why was he in the opening shot? Also, he is walking down the street with a scarf and hat but when she gets him the scarf and hat are gone. These are really minor points but they do confuse the storyline just a little.

Positives: Story flowed nicely. Good choice for talent, make-up and costume. All of these factored into the overall feel of your video. Easy to understand past and present with use of black and white footage. Nice key at the beginning to give credit to the artist.

Improvements: Pacing could be be better throughout - lagged too long on some shots, while too short on others. Fixing pacing issues would impact overall video. Footage of female talent at 0:54 was a bit soft. Be sure to critical focus prior to shooting to ensure sharpest video quality.

Judge 3

Positives: Great use of close-ups and layers - it kept the rhythm well. Smooth camera movements and nice composition - especially framing. Transitions were consistent. Black and white was a good way to show time.

Improvements: A few shots had too much head room. Watch out for hot spots of outdoor light - it didn't match the rest of your video.
