Entry Description

The beginning TV class decided to start off the year strong with this spunky music video. Multiple locations, an iconic song, and eight excited teenagers make up this fun video.

Judge 1

Positives: Nicely edited and paced with the fun song. Camerawork is pretty good. Well produced-multiple locations and the costumes are vibrant which adds to the zaniness. Dancing is good and everyone looks like they're having fun capturing the spirit of the song.

Improvements: Maybe add another layer to the video. Although it's fun watching the characters dance around, I would have liked to have seen more depth to the storyline--even if it was silly. Lip sync is off a tiny bit in parts--nothing major. Maybe some more CUs to capture facial expressions and help define some of the characters. Still, a nice job.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice concept! Good audio to video sync. Intro reminded me of the dancing sequence in The Breakfast Club. Smooth camera work when following singers. All actors were very energetic, and performed well.

Improvements: Due to the quick pacing of the song, I feel more cutaways (possibly layered footage) may help... Video seemed a bit long. Some of the outdoor footage was a little bright compared to the cutaways recorded indoors. Might be interesting to include some nat sound at times. Although the credits were cute, I think it may be better to include a key with song info at the beginning and end of the video - more of a music video style.

Judge 3

Positives: Good job editing to the beat. Fun costumes and props. Good use of different locations.

Improvements: Pacing was a little slow - not many cuts. Lighting a bit how at times.
