This is an excerpt from a 30 minute documentary about Jane, who has Alzheimer’s and dementia and how the family deals with the illness.

Judge 1

Positives: Nice tight shots. Good call to put subtitles for Jane when she was speaking. Liked use of old photos.

Improvements: Baby voice at the start is distracting in audio. Add movement to photos to keep interest. Music didn't completely work for me.

Judge 2

Positives: Good use of pictures and interviews, nice use of music box sound to end

Improvements: would have used b-roll or picture to cover the hand over the lens at 2:47; more dissolves for a story like this.

Judge 3

Positives: Good close-ups. Good use of captioning.

Improvements: Shaky shots. Could use more examples of effects of the disease.
