Entry Description

In this Barrington remake of the classic Halloween special, Linus is determined to see the great pumpkin.

Judge 1

Positives: Use of the green screen was very good. Concept was funny as well. White sheet / snoopy shot was very excellent. It was clear that a lot of thought went into this project for both the shooting and the editing. Very good job.

Improvements: Jump cuts were distracting and audio synch was off at times. In editing, the pace could have been adjusted with faster cuts. When competing in an area such as humor, it is important to come up with your own humorous idea rather than do a "remake" of something else. We've all seen this story before. The execution did make up for the lack of originality though!

Judge 2

Positives: I liked the use of chroma key to combine elements of the old Peanuts version with your retelling. Very creative. Your talent did a pretty good job of acting.

Improvements: I'm not sure what was going on with your audio sync but it made me want to stop watching. Audio is often neglected in productions of "video". But truth be known, good sound will carry a mediocre video. But bad sound can tank the best visual you have. Be careful to re-frame shots when scene changing to avoid the appearance of jump cuts during editing.

Positives: Sound and voice work done well, very well edited

Improvements: Creativity doesn't yield the humor it should here, lip flap / audio slightly out of sync
