Entry Description

A feature story providing an inside look about the then radio junior duo of Ben and Ben. They both run the radio show "Ben and Ben" at Glenbrook South High School on WGBK FM.

Judge 1

Positives: Good mix of information about the radio show and how social media plays a role in the industry. B-roll was limited but used well.

Improvements: More consistent audio mix. No audio clips or soundbites that give the viewer an idea of the type of content they would hear on the Ben and Ben show.

Judge 2

Positives: The editing of this piece was visually perfect. The sound bites transitioned well to the vo. The story is interesting and relevant.

Improvements: Some music may have moved the piece along a little bit. The subjects could have been better lit or color corrected.

Judge 3

Positives: The piece is shot fairly well, and the use of web elements and interviews keep the viewer visually entertained. Good interviews with a mix of adults and teens.

Improvements: The entire piece is somewhat dark (lighting-wise) and the piece can drag a little bit here and there. A way to spice it up would be to sprinkle more of the radio hosts with their louder voices (similar to the one byte used at the end of the piece). Also, I would have liked to have heard from listeners of the radio show to get their thoughts.
