Entry Description

The Powder Puff Houby Bowl feature story demonstrates a high school event in which female athletes participated in flag football.

Judge 1

Positives: Good reporting. Nice pacing.

Improvements: Dissolves are distracting in this type of piece. A bit too much information in the graphics. Hard to read..

Judge 2

Positives: Some graphics in the open spot would help identify what I am watching. Use a lower third graphic to tell your viewers where the video was shot. Some of the sound bites went on a bit longer than necessary. Cut them back to move the piece along.

Improvements: Great shots! Camera work was very professional. Looked great. Nice use of graphics to identify your subjects.

Judge 3

Positives: Good opening sequence... music and action shots. The visuals will catch a viewer's eye immediately. I liked hearing from the adults regarding the event... and good use of using their soundbytes to help continue the story.

Improvements: The voiceover was in drastic contrast with the upbeat and festive feel of the piece. Whether it was feasible or not, I would have liked to have seen more broll of the game from the field as opposed to high up in the stadium. As a viewer I like to feel closer to whatever I'm watching. The stadium shot that was used was something I feel like I would have gotten as a regular spectator.
