Entry Description

Nana's Kitchen is an excerpt from a full-length cooking program. This excerpt features Nana's quiche. Produced by Nick Tantillo.

Judge 1

Positives: Video is well exposed and there is good shot variety. I liked the serving sequence at the end.

Improvements: This needs more than music and video to adequately explain how the dish is made.

Judge 2

Positives: I like the camera work. The editing works well too.

Improvements: I understand this is a shortened version of a full-length program, but I would have liked to have heard Nana explaining what she was doing. You should also direct Nana to look at the camera at least some of the time when she is talking at the beginning.

Judge 3

Positives: Nice shooting and really nice editing. The whole things flows really well.

Improvements: Nana needs to face the camera more. It needed a little more instruction. Seeing it only takes you so far and then it helps to have your subject tell you what you need to know. Dont use effects and transitions where they are not needed. Toward the end Nana is walking to the table and your dissolved from a shot of her walkeing to another shot of her walking. That would look much cleaner to me if you just timed it better and cut it.
