"Pool Party" Animated-Stop Motion for CTEC 2013
Positives: Very nice use of camera. The angles and movement made this an effective piece, particularly the table level shots. Lighting and colors worked well.
Improvements: The timing of this piece is correct. Be more consistent with the shooting rates. From what I could tell you shot some of your animation on fours (four frames per position) some on threes, some on threes and twos, and some on twos Without changing the length of a scene be consistent with your frame rates. The stuff you shot on twos looks really good, I.E. the line of pool balls around 35 seconds and most of the footage after that through the end.
Positives: Some of the movements when all the balls are moving is impressive. The camera pans around the table was cool.
Improvements: Didn't use animation to it's full potential, like it could have gone really crazy with the ball movements, and would have added humor, while making it more interesting. Nothing really stands out as memorable or interesting. Choppy animation with balls give it a rather lazy look and feel to it.
Positives: Nice variety of shots. I like when you built into things which can't normally happen.
Improvements: Pacing a bit uneven. I think you could have found other music and built it with more sfx.
