Entry Description

The Singer-Dancers performed their rendition of Jump, Jive and Wail at the 2013 GBS Variety Show "Carpe Diem." With four cameras in place, I lived directed this act for the V-Show.

Judge 1

Positives: Well done on camera direction with all that was going on during the performance. Good shot and camera selection.

Improvements: Some shots were soft in focus. Cutting to solo performances were good but cold be better.

Judge 2

Positives: At the beginning the pace was a little slow, but then you picked it up and it really worked. Good variety of shots and movement.

Improvements: I would have liked to have seen some more close ups of the singer. Liked the shot of the sax player with the dancers in the foreground, but I would have cut to a close up of him in the middle and then back out.

Judge 3

Positives: Great job. Nice use of the different cameras. Good camera mix. Nice switching pace with the music and dancing. Fun to watch.

Improvements: Only thing I would suggest is a close-up on the sax player early in the show. Great overall job of directing.
