In a transitional year, the Warrior Basketball team hits the hardwood with a new coach, but a familiar face: Coach Dan McKendrick. Max Cotton reports on the 2012-2013 season.
Positives: Good shot framing. Interesting text animation.
Improvements: Sound bites are a little too long. Needs more "reporting"
Positives: Great graphics. Clean, easy to read and help support the piece. Great camera work. Caught some great shots on the court.
Improvements: Some of the bites went on a bit too long. It would've been nice to break it up with some video. The audio on some of the bites seemed hot and made them come off as scratchy.
Positives: Good nat sound with your broll within the piece... it helps keep the viewer visually interested. Great set-up for your interviews (in the gym, in the coach's office - those little things make a big difference). Good and unique story angle on a basketball story.
Improvements: The interviews with the players were good, but I would have liked to have heard more from the players. Because of time constraints it may have been beneficially to do group interview with the players. This not only allows the viewer to feel more invested in the team (feel like he/she knows them), but also gives the players a chance to play off each other and show how they are as team mates.
