Tech Week for the Spring Musical demands a lot from the cast and crew of the production. Amy Yi takes us into the frenzy before the lights go on and the audience arrives.
Positives: 1) Very playful piece! Tone of the event is matched by the style of the presentation! 2) Great use of interview subject - sit down interviews can sometimes be boring ...
Improvements: 1) WDHS slug is a little distracting when animated. If it needs to move, perhaps consider a less erratic style. 2) Video quality suffers at times (low lighting, etc.) - a little color correction to match well lit shots would prevent distraction.
Positives: Everyone looks so happy and enthusiastic. I love the energy of the film. It makes me excited. I want to see this musical now! Jennifer has great energy! She is very well spoken and helps move the story along nicely. Good job!
Improvements: If you have the time, take your time. It would have been cool to set up a tripod in each room we were shown and get b-roll of each location. That way you can do some smooth pans and camera moves over Jennifers description. You should used music from the musical under the film!
Positives: A very good array of footage. You get a good tour, behind the scenes and back stage, warmups, etc. You also make the viewer feel like they're a part of it. Nice use of voice over on top of the rest of the audio.
Improvements: Another voice could've helped. For instance if you interviewed another cast member.
