Entry Description

David and Mike have studied the YouTube series Epic Mealtime. They love it so much they created this parody. If you have seen it before you will appreciate their attention to detail, if you have never heard of it there is a chance you might be grossed out by it - for that I apologize.

Judge 1

Positives: Lighting, camera angles and cuts were very good. It is important to put as much effort into the editing as you do in the shooting and that was done here.

Improvements: Anytime you are mocking something else that was also intended to be funny, you aren't bringing a creative idea to the table. (pun intended) Because of this, I gave a lower score for creativity.

Judge 2

Positives: There were lots of great shots that kept the video moving coherently. Also, there were a couple good audio moments using nat sound. I would like to have heard more of them. Along with all those shots, there was good editing. The flow was well done.

Improvements: The food preparation scene went on a little too long. I realize this is a big part of the parody, but you started to lose me. Pare it down a bit. You may not have had access to them, but some video lights would have greatly enhanced the look. It looked like all ambient flat lighting. There were a lot of colors and reflections you could have worked with. Yeah, it doesn't make it funnier, but it completes the deal.

Positives: Nice shooting and editing...good action sequences

Improvements: Relies on us knowing the show it parodies...sound a bit overpowering at times
