Entry Description

Some times a song can drive you crazy.

Judge 1

Positives: Awesome idea! I loved that song for about a week until that exact thing happened to me!! IT WAS EVERYWHERE! Great camera detail. Tons of insert shots which really help making a film look smooth.

Improvements: Although I loved the insert shots, some of them were a little long and repetitive. The keys unlocking the door and starting the engine takes the viewer away from the main focus, the song. If you were to show just a quick cut of the keys unlocking the door, the viewer gets the hint, they dont need the whole process. That was really it! I would only add that I think this would kill as a really fast comedy video. Try cutting it down from 2:30 to 1:00 and add two more places where he hears the song. The faster you can get him to hearing the song in the next location, the funnier it will be. Great idea!

Judge 2

Positives: Love the scene where he couldn't escape the song on the radio. Easy for the audience to relate to especially with that song choice.

Improvements: Editing is another tool of storytelling. You can make your audience feel based on how you cut it together. If you tightened the edit I think you could have had the audience feel the same annoyance as your main character. Cutting on action is one example that helps speed up the pacing.

Judge 3

Positives: Overall the composition and exposure was well done. interesting concept. Something almost everybody has dealt with at least once in their life with a song getting stuck in their head that they can't seem to escape from.

Improvements: The pace of this piece was quite slow and hindered the humorous intent of the project. It also may have helped to have an additional tag to show the continuation of this song haunting yet another student. Keep the loop going.
